I've loved getting back into the swing of things this month. After a slow summer recovering from surgery I'm so glad to be feeling better and back into my normal routine.
I've been busy with final edits for Tokyo (out next spring), working with my agent on some new book deals ( more cities are coming, plus another book is in final negotiations), working on a big shop update, and having my website overhauled.
Between brainstorming new products, checking samples, and finalising Christmas products, I've also been busy catching up with friends I hadn't seen over the summer, dealing with a leaking shower, and planning a literary weekend retreat for my book club.
Here's more details on I've been up to this month…

Ted Lasso- I've been enjoying the new season. My husband and I have been watching it together every week.
Great British Bake Off- Very excited to start the new season of GBBO! I watch this with my 8 year old and we both really love it. We always feel inspired to bake after watching, which means we will have lovely fresh baked goods in our kitchen for the next few months :)

This month we frequented several of our local favourites. If you visit Frome I recommend them all :)
Rye Bakery- Perfect for Breakfast, lunch, and seasonal treats.
Le Picnic Lotte- A roast chicken takeaway in Frome, serving roasted potatoes and salads along side a succulent chicken. A wonderful meal that leaves plenty for leftovers.
The Walled Garden at Mells- Severing pastries and lunch, the food is delicious and the setting could not be more idyllic.
Doubles Pizza- they had a pop-up at Communa in Frome and it was such yummy pizza. They have a cafe/bar/pizza shop in Melksham.
Rye at the Station- Pizza was on rotation, and we always enjoy the Rye Pizza.
Little Walcot- This delightful restaurant has a crowd pleasing menu and a great selection of drinks. Everyone from kids to adults can enjoy the food here.
Da Costa- Located next to Hauser and Worth in Bruton, this Italian restaurant is another great family friendly option, with plenty to satisfy all ages.
JAWS Bristol- Making it's monthly appearance at The Frome Independent, JAWS makes one of the most delicious chicken parm sandwiches (or opt for the aubergine parm if you are veggie) I think about this sandwich multiple times a month. It is that good. They have more regular pop-ups in Bristol.
Flower Painting Workshop
I attended a wonderful flower painting workshop by my friend Rosie Morris at the beautiful Walled Garden in Mells. It was so lovely to create something with paint, instead of my usual digital medium. It felt good to get outside of my comfort zones and try something new.

This book was so beautifully written. Greek mythology isn't my usual cup of tea but I couldn't put this book down. I'm recommending it to everyone.
I've started a book club in Frome with one of my friends and this is our first book. I am really enjoying it so far, and need to finish it as we meet next week.
I've added this to my autumnal reading list as it feels perfectly seasonal.
Website
My website has had a huge overhaul. I hired Pip at Web Design and Stuff to fully revamp my site. She did an incredible job and I hope you go have a poke around. I'm working on a big shop update where I'm adding new products that I hope you will love. I'm also working on adding in more blog posts with even more great recommendations beyond my books. Exciting times.
Book Deals
Two more city guides are in the works- once we have the i's dotted and t's crossed I'll be sharing more. I'm so excited for these two cities, and so grateful that I get to continue the series. These two books will be books eight and nine!
2027 Calendar
The 2027 London Calendar will be released in October! Keep an eye out for announcements and pre-order deals.
