When it comes to things like Valentine’s and anniversaries I wouldn’t classify myself as a classic romantic. If anything, I’d say I’m a practical romantic. I absolutely love and adore my husband (we’ve been married almost 10 years!) but we like to keep things simple. That doesn’t mean we don’t celebrate, but we are less about grand romantic gestures and more about the little things (it’s all about what your love language is I guess). So with that in mind, here are some Valentine’s date and gift ideas from a practical romantic. The Date: St. John's Lodge Garden- A hidden garden in Regent's Park, that feels like you stepped into a magical world. Stroll through the beautiful garden and bonus points if you bring treats to share. The Gift: Wireless speaker so you can dance together wherever. The Date: Wallace Collection- This small and cozy museum is full of treasures. Perfect for walking hand in hand with your favourite person. Stop for tea and cake in their pink cafe. The gift: Theatre tickets. We loved Waitress and Dear Evan Hansen. The Date: The Serpentine- Head to Hyde Park for a romantic stroll along The Serpentine, enjoying the Italian Gardens and gorgeous views as you stroll along. The Gift: Matching trainers, for more romantic walks together. I’ve got my eyes on these ones. The Date: The V&A- Check out their amazing jewelry collection and pick which crown you would wear. The Gift: A notebook where the first page is a list of all the things you like about your partner. The Date: Kew Gardens- Refresh the soul as you wonder though the beautiful gardens and see plants from all over the world. The Gift: A cookbook and all the ingredients to make a meal together. The Date: London Eye- For those that love a romantic view nothing compares to the London Eye for sweeping views of London. It is extra beautiful if you time your ride for sunset. The Gift: A box of local chocolates. A classic gift that will never go out of style. The Date: Royal Observatory- Enjoy a star show, take in the views of London, and ponder the meaning of time. The Gift: A necklace or sunglasses. The Date: Tate Modern- Head to the viewing galleries to take in sweeping views of the Thames or wander through the galleries and discuss art with your favourite person. The Gift: A instant camera. The Date: St. Paul's Cathedral- Climb to the whispering gallery and whisper sweet nothings to your loved one. The Gift: Perfume (one of my favourites) They do the best scents for men and women. The Date: Columbia Road- Take a Sunday stroll though one of the loveliest flower markets and pick a bunch for the love in your life. The Gift: A baking class!
